Drama Game for Accents
Drama Game of the Week.
‘Accent Tube’
- Players assemble in a line, recommended number 6 – 8 at a time.
- The first person does not need an accent. All the others must choose an accent, trying to avoid RP!
- Once accents have been decided on everyone leaves the playing area except the first person.
- Decide on a situation, I think it is best that the situation is centred round a ‘waiting’ i.e., a train, in a queue for a film, a shop opening, a plane…
The first player establishes the situation. Once they have, the next player joins, the first player must then adopt the same accent as the player who has just joined. It is important as the line grows players listen and DO NOT talk over each other.
Once the second player is added to the conversation the third player joins and everyone adopts their accent. This continues till all players have joined.
Once all players are on, the first player makes their excuses and leaves, they then all revert back to the second players’ accent as they make their excuses and leave. This continues till the end.
- This is a great game for listening skills, accent confidence and team play. Here are some other Drama Games for your Classes
